Tomorrow May Never Come
If children symbolize the future, tomorrow may never come. Many will be denied the right to celebrate their next birthday. According to the U.N., 500 million children, approximately 25% of all children in the world, currently live in conflict or disaster zones. About 75% of these children live in sub-Saharan Africa. Another 50 million children were expelled from their homes. In Syria alone, 500,000 children live in war torn besieged cities. This is how humanity still treats its most vulnerable and innocent members in 2016, Anno Domini. As we approach the Christmas shopping spree season, a little perspective goes a long way.
